Pip was a little penguin with a big dream. Every morning, Pip watched the other penguins slide down Snowball Hill. Whoosh! Whee! They zoomed on their tummies all the way to the bottom.

"I want to slide too!" said Pip.

So Pip waddled to the top of the hill. Pip flopped down on the snow. But Pip did not zoom. Pip just wobbled and stopped. Plop!

Pip felt sad. "I will never be a good slider," Pip said.

Grandma Penguin waddled over. "Nobody slides well the first time," she said. "Try tucking in your flippers, and give a little push with your feet."

Pip tried again. Pip tucked in both flippers. Pip gave a little push. This time Pip slid a tiny bit! Wheee... plop.

"That was better!" said Grandma.

Pip tried again and again. One time Pip went sideways. One time Pip went backwards! Everyone giggled, and Pip giggled too.

Then, on the tenth try, Pip tucked, pushed, and... WHOOSH! Pip zoomed all the way down Snowball Hill, faster than ever!

At the bottom, all the penguins cheered. Pip jumped up with a huge smile. "I did it! I kept trying and I did it!"

And from then on, whenever something felt hard, Pip remembered Snowball Hill and said, "I can try one more time."
